We started their journey at Trinity back in 2002, I come to the February Main program after finishing my O-level in Singapore and Joy came to the July Fast Track program after completing her high school in Shanghai.

¹ú²úBT not only helped both of us adapt quickly to the life in Australia and prepare us for university, but it also created many opportunities for us as students to meet and know each other.  In our case, our journey as life-long partners started at a Trinity concert where Joy played piano and I played the flute.

We both entered Melbourne University in 2003 and we both studied actuarial science. In 2006, we decided to get married and moved to Singapore started our new lives together.

I was qualified as a Fellow of Institute of Actuaries in 2009 and have been enjoying working in the insurance industry, it gives me a sense of purpose in designing products that helps people and meet the needs of their families.  I am now a Vice President with Swiss Reinsurance, looking after product pricing for Life and Health business in Singapore and Malaysia.

Joy decided to join banking and became an equity analyst with J.P. Morgan.  She enjoys her role as an equity analyst. The nature of this field is very dynamic and she enjoys using her analytical skills to forecast stock price performance and to help fund managers make investment decisions.  She is now a Director at Deutsche Bank in charge of the real estate security coverage in Singapore.

Career journeys aside, we are now proud parents of two sons, Jason who is two and a half and Justin who is 10 months old.

In a recently trip to Melbourne in March 2016, we revisited the College with our older son Jason.  It has brought back so much fond memories. Trinity is a very special place to us, it changed our lives and brought us together.

Joey and Joy now lives in Singapore with their two sons. Alumni who are interested in working and living in Singapore are welcome to get in touch with Joey and Joy through the Careers and Alumni Office.
