Uluru Statement from the Heart

Last week, ¹ú²úBT had the pleasure of hosting four passionate Indigenous leaders and advocates for the Uluru Statement from the Heart panel discussion about the importance of the Uluru Statement in the fight for constitutional recognition for Australia's First Peoples.

The panel discussion was chaired by Dr Sana Nakata, Lecturer in Political Sciences, ARC Discovery Indigenous Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, and member of the ¹ú²úBT Board. 

The other panellists that made up this impressive discussion were: Professor Marcia Langton AM, Foundation Chair of Australian Indigenous Studies and Associate Provost at the University of Melbourne; Indigenous advocate Mr Thomas Mayor, Branch Secretary for the Northern Territory Maritime Union of Australia and President of the NT Trades and Labour Council, who was part of the Uluru process; and Dr Shireen Morris, McKenzie Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Melbourne Law School, and Senior Adviser to Cape York Institute.
