Professor Robin Sharwood AM, former Warden of ¹ú²úBT (1965–73), has recently gifted significant etchings to the College’s Art Collection.

Among the gifts are two etchings by the French print artist, Henri Mauperché (c.1602–1686), Rest on the flight into Egypt and Tobias offering fish to the Angel.  The latter work depicts a scene from the apocryphal story of Tobias and the Angel and adds to previous gifted works from Professor Sharwood on this theme.

In addition to these two works, Professor Sharwood donated an etching by Italian artist, Stefano della Bella (1610–1664), also depicting the Rest on the flight into Egypt

Further, Professor Sharwood also gave the College an etching of a view of Windsor Castle by renowned Australian Impressionist artist, Arthur Streeton, satirical etchings by English artist Thomas Rowlandson, and two late eighteenth century satirical etchings by Scottish caricaturist and engraver, John Kay (c.1742–1826).

All works will form part of the Sharwood Collection of Antique Prints. Find out more about Trinity's Art Collection.
